This study investigates the suitability of crushed coconut shell (CCS) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) as partial replacement of coarse aggregate in concrete. The PET was crushed mechanically to sizes between 010mm while the CCS was crushed manually to sizes between
lightweight concrete containing Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) beads. Its properties are compared with those of the normal concrete, without EPS beads. EPS beads are used as partial replacement to coarse aggregates. The results showed that the amount of polystyrene beads incorporated in concrete influences the properties of hardened concrete.
